STEM: The Road to Innovation — First Results of the Competition!
May 8, 2025, 9:49 a.m.
Together with Mondelēz Ukraine, we organized a competition among schools in the Petrove (Kyiv region) and Trostianets (Sumy region) communities to give children more opportunities to grow in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).
Students in grades 7–10 developed their own STEM projects — experiments, prototypes, and research — and in every submission, we saw genuine curiosity, creativity, and a strong desire to learn.
A total of 9 projects from 8 schools participated in the competition.
Each project was evaluated by the jury according to five criteria:
-
Innovation
-
Educational significance
-
Practical applicability
-
Technical complexity
-
Team presentation skills
Based on the results:
The Grand Prix was awarded to:
-
"Smart Greenhouse" project from Novopetrivska Gymnasium
-
"Creating Eco-Friendly Soap for Children" project from the Trostianets Branch of Lyceum No. 3
These schools have already started preparations to upgrade their physics and chemistry classrooms — including renovations and the purchase of modern equipment!
Encouragement prizes — educational equipment — will also be awarded to:
-
Lyceum No. 1 of the Trostianets City Council
-
Petrove Lyceum
This competition is just the beginning of a much bigger journey.
Ahead are even more opportunities for children: workshops, meetings with mentors, a STEM camp, and exciting new challenges!
